Field Service Engineer (m/f/d) EuropeThe Field Service Engineer for Europe is responsible for responding to customer complaints, delivering effective problem diagnosisimplementing corrective actions for products covered by warrantyotherwise subject to contracted service in the European region. Support the products of the companies Bioprocess including chromatography, filtration, testingdilution skids in addition to chromatography columns.
Routine Support (65%)

Communicate with customers, by phone, via e-mail,in person regarding service visits: planning, scheduling, scope, expected duration, parking, shipment of partstools,expected resources the customer may need to supply.
Perform mechanical, electrical,software routine repairs on a customer’s site with no direct supervision on schedule, safely,while positively representing the company.
Observe, diagnoserepair a broad range of mechanical, electricalcontrols-related issues.
Independently diagnose problems, research solutionsleverage a wide array of resources such as product/instrument user manuals, testing with service utilities, contacting a component manufacturer directly, personal professional networks & experience, etc.
Assist the project engineers with initial start-uptraining of new productsperform end-user retraining as necessary.
Maintain service support database including service history files for customersthe company.
Emergency Support (10%)

Serve as first point of contact for an emergency product failure in the field – calm the customer, clarify the problem, collect relevant historical perspective, identify root causespropose solutions. Take corrective action required to minimize customer downtime.
In cases when remote support is unable to resolve an issue, be available to travel on short notice to a customer’s site to remedy the problem.
RelationshipsPeople (15%)

Serve as first point of contact for customer complaintsproblem resolution: Document customer’s concern, endeavor to remotely diagnose issue based on experience, technical knowledgecustomer feedback; Developcommunicate corrective action plans. Deliver on all commitments.
Schedule customer visits for maintenancerepairs, arrange travel, parts shipments, customs clearance – ensuring alignment of expectations.
Maintain a strong working relationship with Sales, promoting renewal of service contractshelping educate the customer on our service capabilities.
Additional duties & responsibilities (10%)

Promptly writesubmit customer visit reports.
Document corrective actionsshare with Engineering, Quality Assurance (QA)Sales teams.

Technicaltrade school degree required. University degree in biological sciences preferred.
5+ years’ experience working with process equipment, especially in pharmaceuticalbiopharmaceutical industries.
Familiarity with pumps, valves, instrumentation (flow meters, pressure transmitters, conductivity sensors, pH measurement, UV optical absorbance spectroscopy), fittings,analytical measurement tools.
General understanding of QA concerns in a cGMP environmentability to follow internalcustomer QA procedurestest protocols.
Fluency in GermanEnglish required. One additional EU language preferred.
Must be energetic, detail-oriented,self-motivated.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, comfort communicating with customers,patience with being watched while working.
Exceptional troubleshooting skills for mechanical, instrument, PLC.
Residence in Germanyopenness to frequent travel to customer sites throughout Europe (Germany, France, Netherlands, UK, Italy, Switzerland, Israel, Spain, Sweden, Austriaothers)occasional travel to US for training.
