You are committed to engage with, broaden, enhancesupport Grünenthal’s capabilities in identifyingvalidating novel targets relevant to our mission.
You willan existing systems biology team that is embedded in the Target Incubator Unit (TIU)that actively collaboratesscientifically engages across all teamsdepartments associated with Grünenthal’s ResearchDevelopment.
You willan omics-guided approach to identifyprioritize novel genes, targets, biomarkerspathways implicated in selected pain indications,to use them to predict previously unexplored mechanisms for therapeutic intervention.
You will work with the systems biology team to keep track of state of the art omics toolsdata bases. You will also work alongside translational disease model scientiststhe computational biology team to integrate in house-generated omics data to understand the molecular logic underpinning disease progression in key pain indications.
You will contribute to developing the appropriate assays for benchmarking of translationally-relevant systemsconfirmation of hypotheses generated based on omics data derivedboth in housepublic data repositories.
You willa team that are responsible for developingestablishing global multi-omics workflows for the assessment of biological samples. You will advance platform technologies like single cell RNA seq, bulk transcriptomics, genomics (SNP), metabolomics, proteomics, high content imagingflow-based assays for characterization of in vitro & in vivo target biology, interactomessignaling pathways.
You will also engage in many of the wider initiativesgoals of the Target Incubator Unitwill be actively encouraged to broaden your skills by learningother stakeholders throughout R & D.
To make the most of this roletruly thrive, you should have:

You have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biochemistrya related-discipline potentially with some experience of working on systems biology-based studies.
You are experienced in progressing experimental plans to generate data that accurately reflects the relevant biological questions. You will be enthusiastic to learn new systems biology research pipelinesthe associated challenges of experimentalupanalysis.
You will ideally have some bioinformatic experience of processing large ‘OMIC’-derived datasetsa willingness to adopt new analysis solutionsnecessary. You may have already demonstrated skills in the analysis of multiple large omics datasets such as (single-cell) transcriptomicsproteomics.
You may have a familiarity of omics project executiona strong willingness to actively learn in this area
You may have some experience to set-upmanage external omics collaborations with academic collaboratorscontract research organizations.
Experience with sourcingquality control of biospecimens would be beneficial.
