An exciting opportunity has become available in the Technical Services team for a Technical Manager to look after our nickel powder catalysts with a focus on Edible OilsOleochemical applications. This is a global rolethe candidate will be the key point of contact for technical expertiseadvice.
Technical expertise in nickel powder catalysts, being the key point of contact for global technical enquiries
Technical expertise in edible oilsoleochemicals, as well as other petrochemical/renewable hydrogenation applicationsthese products could be used
Technical lead with customers to provide advicesupport, making recommendations regarding product selectionapplication
Active involvement with sales teams in promoting JM productsservices to customers
Advising manufacturing plants (EmmerichTaloja) on catalyst production; including scaling up of new products, ensuring consistent production qualityminimising off-spec product
Active involvement in development of new products, including identification of opportunitiesguiding the technical inputfeedback to/from customers about their needs that new products could solve
Represent JM at relevant international conferences as appropriate
Writingmaintaining technicalsafety documentation (product data sheets, operating manuals, SDS’s) to a high standard
Providing support to other members of the global technical service team as required
Degree in scientific/technical discipline; ChemistryChemical Engineering
Experience in the edible oilsoleochemicals areabase metal catalysis is preferred but not essential, however, the candidate should have a strong technical abilitywillingness to quickly develop this competence
Strong communication skills, both verbalwritten
Experience working in a customer focussed technical environment
Capable of working independently to deliver business critical objectives
The role requires the candidate to spend some time supporting our German manufacturing sites (in EmmerichOberhausen), therefore either being based in Germanythe ability to travel there frequently is required. In addition to this global travel will be required to visit customersattend conferences
